    Location: Birmingham   

    Salary: From 30K per annum

    Hours: Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm (35 hours per week)

    Your Role, Your Impact

    As the Data Privacy & Compliance Coordinator, you will contribute to our vision of being the leading residential property manager, as recognised by others by:

    • Ensuring FirstPort’s compliance with all regulatory requirements including the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) particularly with regards data subject rights requests.
    • Carry out key tasks to effectively implement and maintain FirstPort’s Data Protection, privacy and compliance framework.

    This role reports to the Head of Data Privacy & Compliance.

    The role is hybrid working from our Birmingham office with occasional travel to our other offices. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Be the first point of contact for all compliance and data protection enquiries, providing advice and guidance.
    • Processing and responding to all Data Subject Rights and third-party disclosure requests with support from the Data Privacy & Compliance Analyst.
    • Liaising with external agencies such as the police and internal colleagues.
    • Conduct and support with DPIAs.
    • Maintain and monitor compliance registers, ensuring that accurate and timely information is recorded.
    • Assist in all activities including the compliance framework, audit programme, breach investigations and monthly reporting.
    • To ensure that data protection and compliance processes are followed and tracked.
    • To deliver advice, training and guidance on data protection and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and internal processes in order to drive an organisational understanding of and adherence to data protection and compliance processes and standards.
    • Ensure awareness and communication is established within the business with regards to compliance, data protection and security.
    • Liaise with external regulators such as the ICO.
    • Provide general support services to the Business Conduct team to ensure their responsibilities are met and their time is utilised effectively.

    About You

    • Experience of working in a support service or administrative role within a legal or compliance team.
    • A good understanding of the principles of Data Protection, and other compliance requirements such as Bribery and Corruption.
    • Experience of requirements for disclosure of personal data and redaction.
    • Experience of handling data breaches and case management.
    • Proficient skills in the use of MS Office Word, Excel, SharePoint and Adobe.
    • Excellent customer service skills both oral and written as dealing extensively with external customers and clients is a key part of this role.
    • An understanding of the property management sector would be an advantage
    • Extremely organised and able to prioritise workload effectively.
